I graduated in 1999 as Chemist (Analytical Chemistry) from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México ( UNAM). In 2001 I received the licentiate degree in Materials Chemistry from the Royal Institute of Technology ( KTH) with a thesis entitled " Study on Polymeric Inclusion Membranes. Transport and Characterisation". In 2004 I obtained the Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry also from the Royal Institute of Technology ( KTH) with a thesis entitled " Synthesis, Characterisation and Applications of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles". During 2005-2007 I was a postdoc at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona ( UAB) and the Institut Catalá de Nanotecnologia ( ICN) in Bellaterra, Catalonia, Spain working with Magnetic Nanostructures. After this I returned to Sweden, to the Royal Institute of Technology for a few months, working on nanoparticles of hard magnetic materials. In 2012 I obtained the docent title in Materials Chemistry at SU and beam group leader in 2013. In 2019 I took a position as Senior Lecturer in the Division of Solid State Physics at Ångström Laboratory, Uppsala University.

The emphasis of my research is devoted to the multiple length scale characterisation of sustainable nanomaterials such as nanocellulose or iron oxides. For this we employ a combination of small-angle scattering and diffraction of neutrons or X-rays.
