Research
My PhD project aims to investigate how a population's genetic diversity, population size, inbreeding level, vitality and local adaptation is linked. My species of interest is the Fragrant Orchid, Gymnadenia conopsea (L.). It has historically been relatively common across all of Eurasia, but has in recent time, due to heavily altered land use regimes, showed a decrease in large areas of its former distribution range, both in the number of populations but also in population size.
