Since 2007 I hold an associate professorship in environmental toxicology. I am interested in sex differentiation and reproductive system development and how these processes are affected by exposure to chemicals. Transient exposure to chemicals during critical periods of embryo-foetal development can result in reproductive disorders and impaired fertility as the animal becomes adult. Using the frog as a model we investigate endocrine disruption, developmental and reproductive toxicity using methods that range over several levels of biological organisation including molecular, physiological, and behavioural.
