Sophia Hatz is an Associate Senior Lecturer. Her research interests relate to state-led coercion and repression: spanning violence against civilians, human rights violations and restrictions on civil liberties. Currently, she works on the ERC-funded project Variation in Institutional Oversight of Police Misconduct (VINO). Methodologically, she specialises in survey methods and experimental design. She earned her PhD in May 2019.
