Fredrik Ponten, MD, PhD, is Professor at Uppsala University and a board-certified specialist of Anatomical Pathology at the Uppsala University Hospital. He is the Vice-Program Director and Clinical Director of the Human Protein Atlas program, and heads the Human Protein Atlas effort at the Uppsala site. His research is based on an affinity proteomics approach with emphasis on translational medicine. Dr Ponten who is a former Fulbright schollar, is one of the founders of the Human Protein Atlas program and a member of the Atlas Antibodies AB Board. Dr Ponten received his PhD from Uppsala University in 1996, he did a post-doc at Yale University (New Haven, CT, USA) and became full professor in 2008 at the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, Uppsala University, Sweden.
