Distinguished Teacher 2013, Professor in materials physics 2015, specializing on magneto-optic domain imaging and tuning of magnetic properties by controlled deposition of materials combinations. Teaching undergraduate courses in fundamental physics. Coordinated a graduate school "Materials for the 21st Century" (2008-2015). Assistant head of Department of Physics and Astronomy 2015-2020, deputy head 2016-2020. Currently section dean for physics since July 2020.

Magneto-optic domain imaging (Kerr microscopy)
Growth and characterisation using e.g. x-ray diffraction, magneto-optic Kerr effect, and neutron scattering.
