I have aPhD economic history and work at the Department of Economic History at Uppsala University. My main research interest concerns immigrants in the labor market as well as the Swedish labor market and labor market policy during the post-war period.
In my dissertation (214) I tried to explain how and why immigrants came to concentrate on the metal and engineering industry in the decades after the end of World War II.
Since then, I have been involved in a number of research projects. These include two comparative international projects coordinated by the European Social Observatory, the first of which dealt with welfare through collective agreements or employment (so-called occupational welfare) and the second with the social partners' views on and involvement in the European Semester.
In a study funded by IFAU I investigated the Swedish Medical Association and the Association for Health Professionals attitude and policy in relation to doctors and nurses trained abroad, which ended in 2017. Since then, I have through research from both Åke Wibergs and Gunvor and Josef Aner's foundations. the post-war period.
Together with Jan Ottosson, I have run a research project funded by Forte on the growth of security and adjustment agreements.
I am now involved in a project on the Economic Defence policies in the post-war period with speicic attentions to the relationship between the state and private companies.
I have teached, or have taught, in several courses, in both Swedish and English, and at both basic and advanced level. For a couple of years, I shared the responsibility for the introductory course in the Economics program at Business Administration A. I have also been involved and designed, developed and been responsible for a number of courses.
