Gisela Bengtsson is a researcher associated with the Department of Philosophy at Uppsala University. Bengtsson is currently working on the project Wittgenstein and the Notion of a Correct Method in Philosophy. Her research interests include questions that concern depiction in art in relation to concepts of 'seeing', and the character of a philosophy. Her post-doc project Frege and the distinction between Science, Literature and Philosophy was financed by the Research Council of Norway.

Biography

Gisela Bengtsson is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bergen, Norway. Her research interests include Wittgenstein's philosophy, Frege, Cora Diamond, philosophy and literature, conceptions of rationality and communication, metaphor, and language acquisition. The aim of her current research project is to explore different conceptions of philosophy, and to seek answers to the question of what characterizes a philosophical investigation with a focus on the relation between the work of Frege and Wittgenstein. Bengtsson holds a Dr. Art. from the University of Oslo with a dissertation on Wittgenstein's conception of philosophy. She will be a guest at the Department of Philosophy in Uppsala as a holder of a personal post-doctoral research fellowship from the Research Council of Norway from January 1, 2014.
