Short presentation
Cecilia Ekéus (CE) holds a position as a Professor specializing in reproductive and perinatal health.
CE became a nurse in 1986, a midwife in 1990, and a Master in Public Health at Karolinska Institutet (KI) in 1998.
PhD in International health in 2004, KI . Post-doc at KI and Research Assistant the Swedish Research Council from 2008 to 2012. Associate Professor of Reproductive Health (Docent) at KI in 2012 and Professor of Reproductive health at Uppsala University in 2019.
Research
CE is currently working as a researcher in reproductive epidemiology with a specific focus on maternal and neonatal outcomes following complicated childbirths. As a project leader, she has published several epidemiological register-based studies on outcomes for women and children following vacuum extraction delivery. Recently, she has initiated a project on the causes and consequences of the increasing use of medications for erectile dysfunction in men younger than 40 years of age.
