Short presentation
The prevalence, age of onset, and clinical symptoms of many neuropsychiatric disorders differ substantially between males and females. Despite clear evidence neuroscientists tend to ignore the important role the biological sex plays in their research. In my PhD project I am investigating sex differences in the early human brain development and the involvement of sex chromosomes in the latter. As a research model, I am using human embryonic and neuronal stem cells.
