Short presentation

My dissertation project explores the link between climate change, disasters and the likelihood of various kinds of violent and non-violent conflict. It further investigates the relationship by looking into potential intervening mechanisms such as migration and temporary displacement, and conditioning factors such as quality of national and local political institutions. The project employs both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Kristina Petrova is a Researcher at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research and Centre of Natural Hazards and Disaster Science (CNDS) . Her current work is also associated with a political Violence Early Warning System (ViEWS) and MISTRA Geopolitics projects.
