3.21 Innovation Partnership Office
Uppsala University's Innovation Partnership Office (UU Samverkan) supports research collaboration with organisations and companies outside the University.
The Innovation Partnership Office's task is to contribute to increased utilisation of research results and knowledge that will benefit both the University and the wider society.
The Innovation Partnership Office works to increase knowledge about collaboration and partnerships within the University in addition to developing models for knowledge exchange and innovation through collaboration. The department works with all of the University's disciplinary domains, and supports the University's management team in developing and managing strategic collaborations. The Innovation Partnership Office also administers Verification for Collaboration (Verifiering för Samverkan, VFS), a funding form for early stage collaborative projects which is open to all researchers at the University.
The department has collaboration managers that are involved in several large national and international collaboration and innovation projects on behalf of the University, for example, Big Science Sweden (Biss), Additive Manufacturing for the Life Sciences Competence Centre (AM4Life), Ångström Materials Academy (ÅMA) and Genomic Medicine Sweden (GMS Sweden). The department also hosts the Strategic Innovation Programme Internet of Things Sverige (IoT Sverige).
The Innovation Partnership Office can offer support to researchers and groups of scientists to begin establishing, developing and conducting collaborations and innovation projects with external stakeholders. This support includes advice on how best to develop the use of research results in collaborations, process- and project management, collaboration agreements and financing.
