Since 2011, I am Associate Professor at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University, Sweden. My research focuses on conflict resolution in civil wars with a particular focus on multiparty dynamics, including topics such as the inclusive peace processes, rebel group fragmentation, and peacekeeping operations. My work is published in journals such as International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and Security Studies. I am serving as Associate Editor of Journal of Peace Research and I am on the Editorial Board of Conflict Management and Peace Science.
I am currently heading a research project funded by the Swedish Research Council, and acting as deputy leader of the Swedish node in the PAVE project under the European Union H2020 scheme. I have been a core group member of the research project “Resolving Jihadist Conflicts? Religion, Civil War, and Prospects for Peace” funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
I have held visiting fellowships at the Peace Research Institute of Oslo (PRIO), Notre Dame University, and Stanford University. Previous positions of trust include the council of the Peace Science Society (International), the steering committee of the Network for European Peace Scientists (NEPS), and the Research Workshops Grants Committee of the International Studies Association.
