My research focuses on American literature, particularly modern and contemporary poetry and poetics. I have taught literature and academic writing in a variety of contexts in both Sweden and the U.S.

I was born in Sweden and grew up in the U.S. I earned my B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Sussex in the UK. I earned my Ph.D. in 2017 from the University of Notre Dame in the U.S. with my dissertation, The Song in the Machine: Organic Forms of American Poetry.

I am currently completing my book, Poetic Drive: Experimental American Poetry in the Age of Automobility, for which I have received funding from the Swedish Research Council. Poetic Drive shows how American poets from William Carlos Williams to Claudia Rankine have harnessed automobility to craft experimental poetry that confronts social conflicts around whiteness, masculinity, and ecology. I am also co-editing a special issue of the journal Women’s Studies on the contemporary trans poet Eileen Myles, which will appear at the end of 2022. I have published articles in Textual Practice and Arizona Quarterly, and have another article forthcoming in Modernism/modernity. I have also published criticism in Swedish in Ord & Bild, and translations of the poets Ann Jäderlund into English, and Eileen Myles into Swedish.
