My on-going PhD project concerns the interactional construction of pedagogical activities within professional work in the context of scientific research. Based on microethnography and multimodal conversation analysis, my research interests are concentrated around the study of teaching and learning in interaction, especially in workplaces and in non-formal education.
Other research fields of interests: literacies, comparative education, applied linguistics
I'm a Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish teacher with a Master degree in Applied Linguistics, currently pursuing a PhD in Education at Uppsala University. I started doing (micro)ethnography and conversation analysis at my home university in Brazil, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), under the supervision of Professor Pedro M. Garcez, PhD. Besides working as a teacher at language schools, I have also worked at a teaching assistant at Middlebury College (US, Vermont) for two years, before moving to Sweden.
At Uppsala University, I'm a member of the CLIP group (Studies in Childhood, Learning and Identities as Interactional Practices) of the Department of Education. Professor Helen Melander Bowden and Dr. Johanna Svahn are my supervisors in my doctoral research.
