Accessible freshwater is a dwindling resource in many regions, largely due to poor knowledge and management of its cross-sectoral interactions with our food and energy supply, as well as ecosystems. To improve our understanding of these interactions, I'm looking into the potential use of data-driven methods and machine learning for the purpose of model discovery, forecast, and control, with the penultimate goal of standardizing how we assess and optimize resource use in a sustainable manner.
