I investigate the use of incoherent diffractive imaging to obtain structural information about biomolecules. Heavy atoms in the molecule fluoresce when high-intensity photons from incident x-rays are absorbed. This re-emitted energy from the sample becomes the source of an incoherent signal captured in the form of speckle patterns. My work is computational. I use collisional-radiative models to study photon-matter interaction during and after the sample's exposure to radiation.
