My expertise lies in the exploration of cell signalling. I received my PhD at EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) in Heidelberg, identifying two novel cell cycle regulators, Ringo and Xkid, in the group of Angel Nebreda. At the Max-Planck Institute in Munich, I worked as a postdoc with Rudiger Klein exploring the spatiotemporal control of EGF receptor (EGFR) signaling by generating mice lacking the EGFR feedback inhibitor Mig6. In recent years, my group has first at UCL in London, then at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and now the University in Uppsala, we have broadened our exploration of the spatiotemporal regulation the EGFR and its importance for epithelial homeostasis and development of cancer to also encompass uncovering roles of theses receptors in establishing cell polarity and cell-cell adhesion.
